One day the elder brother said to Winda:
“Uindya, tomorrow I’ll go hunt wild deer, and you take our goods on a deer to Khivindya.” I’ll come there, to Hivindu, tomorrow too.
The next day in the morning, Windy's elder brother went hunting wild deer. Vindya himself migrated to Khivindya, carrying his property on a reindeer. Windya leads his deer. And so, when he was leading his deer, he found a river. On the bank of the river Windya stopped. Then, taking off his boots, he said to his deer:
- Deer, take off your high boots too, otherwise you’ll soak them in water. The deer did not take off his high boots. Then Vindya again said to the deer:
- Deer, why don’t you listen to me? I won’t take off your boots myself.
The deer still did not take off his high boots. Then Vindya tore the skin from the deer's legs. The deer died.
Vindya began to cross the river. The river is murmuring. Windya said to the flowing river:
- River, what are you asking of me? I will not give you the meat of my deer.
But the river still gurgled.
Vindyah, thinking that the river was asking for deer meat, threw it into the river. After this, Vindya carried the property further on his back.
So he came to Khivindyu. Windya saw a nest on a large tree. Windya climbed into the nest. Having climbed up, he began to live in the nest.
Then after a while the older brother came. When he arrived, he began to look for Vindi’s tent and Vindi himself, but he could not find him. Then the elder brother Windy began to call:
— Vindya, where are you? Where is your chum? Windya from above, from the nest, answers:
- Brother, I'm here.
The brother began to look. He sees Windy's head sticking out of an eagle's nest up in the tree. Brother Windy said:
- Vindya, what a fool you are! Why didn’t you put up a chum, why did you climb into the nest? Windya replied:
- Brother, you told me to put the chum in the nest, right?
The elder brother said:
“Windya, did I tell you to climb into the nest?” Then they installed a tent. After some time, the brother asked Windu:
— Vindya, where is our deer? Windya replied:
“Brother, when he didn’t want to take off his boots to cross the river, I took off his boots myself, and our deer died.”
Brother said:
- Vindya, what a fool you are! Where's the meat? Windya replied:
“Brother, when the river asked for meat, I gave everything to the river.” Brother said:
- What a fool! How will the river ask, in what words?
