In one small remote village lived an old man and an old woman. One day on Easter Day, in the evening, the old woman went to draw water from the well. I looked into the well and saw the Moon in it. The old woman was surprised that the Moon came down from the sky and fell into the well, got scared and ran into the hut to tell the old man.
The old man took the poker and, together with the old woman, went out to catch the Moon. He lowered the poker into the well, pulled, and took the poker and caught it on the frame. They pull and pull together with the old woman, but they just can’t get her out. They strained with all their strength, and then the wooden handle came off the poker, the poker fell into the water, and the old man and the old woman flew off in different directions.
Rising from the ground, the old man saw the Moon in the sky and said with annoyance and regret:
- Oh, you scoundrel! I wanted to hang it on the wall so that it would shine in the hut, but no, it flew away.
