How the wolf got his fur coat

How the wolf got his fur coat
Enlight

A wolf was walking through the forest and saw a woodpecker hammering away at a tree. He says to the woodpecker:

“Oh, you woodpecker, you’re chiseling a tree, but you haven’t eaten the honey.” And the woodpecker replies: “Oh, you gray sided wolf, you carry rams and sheep, but you haven’t sewed on a good fur coat.” The wolf cried out of resentment and left. He meets a fox on the way. The fox asks: “What, godfather, are you crying?”

- How can I not cry? The woodpecker said that I carry rams and sheep, but I haven’t sewn on a good fur coat.

“Over there in the meadow,” says the fox, “the stallion is tied.” Pull a peg out of the ground, wrap the rope around yourself, and drag the stallion into the forest. Here's your fur coat.

The wolf did as the fox said. He went, pulled out the peg, and wound the rope around himself. The horse got scared, took off and rushed home straight over the bumps and potholes. And the fox runs after him and shouts:

- Wolf-kumanek, at least grab the gate! Wolf-kumanek, at least grab the gate!

A horse flew into the yard, women with pitchforks, men with axes came running and attacked the wolf. So the owner made a wolf fur coat for himself.
