Once upon a time there lived a sparrow with his sparrow. One day she was lucky enough to find several grains of rice, and the sparrow himself found lentils. Sparrow said:
- Listen, let's cook some porridge for ourselves!
She cooked the porridge, covered it and flew to the well to get water. Meanwhile, the sparrow crept up to the cup in which there was porridge and ate it in two gulps. Having had his fill, he put the cup back and sat down to the side.
A sparrow flew in with water and said to him:
- Come on, where is the porridge? Now we'll eat properly.
And the sparrow answers:
- I don’t have any appetite, you eat yourself. A sparrow flew up to the cup, and lo and behold, there was nothing!
- How so! - she exclaimed. - Everything is empty! Who ate the porridge?
“How should I sleep?” the sparrow said uncertainly. - Probably... the cat came here - she apparently ate it.
Sparrow suspected something was wrong. She didn’t believe the sparrow, but she didn’t show it.
“Well,” she said, “we need to teach the rogue a lesson.” Let's fly to the well and weave a swing over it from thin threads. Whoever ate the porridge will probably break the swing and fall into the well.
They wove a swing. First the sparrow swayed, then it was the sparrow’s turn. But as soon as he sat on it, the swing could not stand it, and the sparrow fell straight into the well.
- Get me out of here, wifey! – he screamed at the top of his lungs.
- Aren’t you going to do that in the future? __ I swear, just help me get out!
At this time, a shepherd walked by. The sparrow asked him to get the sparrow from the well.
“My cow will leave,” he said. “There’s another shepherd walking behind you, ask him.”
When the second shepherd approached, the sparrow began to ask him for help.
“My goat will leave me, sister,” he answered, “ask someone else.”
At this time, a cat appeared from somewhere. The sparrow respectfully folded her wings and said: "
- Kitty, get my sparrow from the well!
She saw that there was certainly money to be made here, licked her lips and answered:
- Well, I’ll get your sparrow, and then I’ll eat it!
- Okay, have it your way.
The cat pulled the sparrow out of the well and prepared to eat it. But the sparrows managed to glance at each other.
“Take your time, cat,” said the sparrow, “let him dry first, and then eat.”
The cat began to wait for the sparrow to dry, and it seized the moment and quickly fluttered onto a branch. The sparrow flew after him.
They both sat down on a branch and said to the cat:
- Bye bye, kitty, goodbye!
The cat dug her claws into the ground in frustration and walked away, slurping unsaltedly.
