Frost once said to the hare:
“I can turn you into an icicle in an instant!”
- But you can’t! - answers the hare.
- And I say - I can!
- And I say - you can’t!
So they argued and argued and almost came to blows. Then a good idea came to Frost's mind.
“Come on,” he says to the hare, “bet!”
“Come on,” agreed the hare.
The frost began to freeze the hare. And the hare rolls in the snow and shouts:
- The master is warm, the master is hot!
“Oh, damn you! What a strong hare!” - thinks the frost, and rages with all his might. He brought in such cold that the hare's eyes popped out of his head. But he holds his scythe and shouts:
- The master is warm, the master is hot!
The frost is tired, but the hare keeps rolling around in the snow and doesn’t think about freezing.
- Will you freeze? - said the frost and retreated from the hare.
Since then, the hare has not frozen in winter, but his eyes remain bulging.
