Once the cat became sad that winter was approaching, but he had no boots. He got ready for the city and went to buy boots for himself and his wife. I walked a considerable part of the road and met a fox.
The fox says to him: “Where are you going, Pan Kotovsky?” The cat answers: “I’m going to the city to buy boots, because winter is coming, it’s cold to walk barefoot.” And the fox says: “There is a good shoemaker Volchok here, go and buy yourself some boots.”
The fox walked ahead, and the cat followed him, and the fox led the cat into the thicket of the forest. But the cat is stupid, he doesn’t know that foxes live in the thickets, he’s a rural person, he doesn’t have to be in the forest.
They just found themselves in the thicket, and the fox said to the cat: “Give me the money, otherwise you’ll die!” And the cat says: “Have mercy, I’ll buy boots for you, your wife, and your children, just let me out of here alive.”
They came to an agreement and the two of them went to the city to buy boots. They had already approached the city, and the fox walked stealthily, telling the cat that he was afraid to go to the city itself. And the cat keeps calling the fox to the city. They went into one narrow street, and the cat left the fox at the gate, and he went to see if there were ready-made boots. People saw a fox on the path - they surrounded him, caught him, tore off his tail and beat him.
The fox broke out and ran home, he didn’t even wait for his boots. The cat returned, but the fox was not found, only a bunch of people were in this place. The cat went to the store, bought boots for himself and his wife, and... He called the dog Brysk with him so that he would accompany him home so that the fox would not kill him.
And the fox went out against the cat with his wife and two eldest sons to kill the cat because he had to return home without a tail. The cat saw the fox and said to Brysk: “He’s already waiting for me!” Brysko answers: “Don’t be afraid, wait, I’ll say hello to him now.”
They come closer to each other; how the dog attacked the fox and tore it to pieces, and the eldest son began to defend the fox, the dog killed him, and the rest ran away. Brysko was about to return home, and the cat invited him to visit him for his kind help.
And from then on the cat lived freely and carefree. And if the foxes met Brysk somewhere, in the forest, then they were afraid of him. And since then the cat has never met the treacherous fox again.
