Lived in the kingdom of Baekje Se Dong. The little guy is clever and quick-witted. He walks around the city, selling sweet potatoes to feed his father and mother, while he looks out for everything and listens to other people’s conversations. Se Dong found out that the beautiful Song Hwa, the third daughter of the king, was of marriageable age, and began to think and wonder: “If only I could become related to the king, he would make me a minister.” Xie Dong has lost his peace, does not sleep, does not eat, and walks near the royal palace. He dreams of just catching a glimpse of the princess. And suddenly I figured out how to do it. I took it and composed a song. And with his goods he went straight to the main gate of the palace. He came and sang a song:
Open, doors and chambers,
Meet your beloved, Song Hwa,
Se Dong has neither ranks nor gold,
But to be his wife -
Says the popular rumor.
The guards opened their mouths, but when they came to their senses and rushed after him, Xie Don was gone.
There was a commotion in the palace. Some poor fellow is singing wicked songs near the royal palace! A rumor spread like a snake through the palace - the royal daughter had been dishonored!
- You worthless thing, you disgrace me! - the king attacked his daughter and immediately ordered the servants to take her to a distant temple and lock her there. And that’s all Se Dong needs. He waited on the mountain road until the palanquin and Song Hwa were carried, and together with his friends he kidnapped her.
“Darling, now you are mine forever,” he said to the girl as soon as she woke up.
The young people settled in a lonely hut, in the wilderness, and thought: how can they make the king change his anger to mercy? They thought and thought and came up with an idea: Se Dong asked the hunters to go to the king and say that his daughter Song Hwa was alive and well, that it was not a mere mortal who kidnapped her, but the son of the spirit of the mountains, that the spirit wanted to enter the palace and help the king in everything, to be his friend.
The king did not hold evil, forgave his daughter, and sent servants for the young ones.
We met Se Dong and his wife with all honors at the palace. They arranged a feast for the whole world. Se Dong received the rank of Hwarang, all his dreams came true. And soon he became King Muwan-cho - the king of the Baek-che dynasty - and ruled the country for 44 years.
