The pigeon did not know how to build a nest and went to the blackbird to learn. Drozd was a great master in this matter. When the dove arrived, the thrush had just begun to build its beautiful nest.
At first the pigeon watched the thrush's work very carefully, but when the base of the nest was ready and the edges began to rise little by little, the pigeon became bored. He decided that he had nothing left to learn and began shouting:
- I can! I can! I can!
He flapped his wings and flew away. And he didn't even say thank you.
The next day the dove itself began to build a nest. He made the bottom of the nest, but he doesn’t know what to do next.
Then the dove again flew to the blackbird and began to beg the blackbird to show him once again how to build a nest.
But the blackbird answered:
“You’ve already boasted that you know how to build, so you’ll be able to finish the job without me.”
So the pigeon’s nest still stands unfinished. However, the pigeon will boast:
- I can! I can!
But in fact, he doesn’t know how!
