Once upon a time there lived a man named Nadere, and inside a small hill nearby lived a creature who was also called Nadere. Nader the man had a vegetable garden, and when he went there, he passed by a hill within which another Nader lived. One day he was walking along the path to his garden, and suddenly another Nader appeared from under the ground and jumped onto his shoulders. The man got very scared and shouted:
- Who are you? Get off me, I'm going to work, and you're very heavy!
But this creature did not want to get off him, and Nadera had to carry him. Arriving at the garden, he said:
- Get down, I need to work. But the creature answered:
- No, I won’t get off, you work, and I’ll sit on you. He remained sitting on Nader, and the poor fellow had to carry a heavy burden on his back all the time while working.
Fellow villager Nadere saw them from afar and was surprised: “What is it, why is one person sitting on another?” Nadere cut two bunches of bananas, tied one to one end of a short rope, and the other to the other, and hung the rope around his neck: then, holding the bunches under his arms, he filled several jugs with water, collected brushwood and piled it all on top of the bananas. Then he moved home, and all this time the evil creature sat on his shoulders. But when Nadere reached the hill in which this creature lived, it jumped to the ground, grabbed all the food, brushwood and jugs of water and disappeared underground.
Nader shouted after him:
- Leave me at least a little! What will I eat now? Smoke was already rising from the ground - the evil creatures were preparing food for themselves, and Nadera had no food left. He drank water and went to bed; all that day he only ate a few ripe bananas from his garden.
The next day Nader went to the garden again, and the same creature, already waiting for him at the hill, again jumped onto his back.
“Oh,” Nadere shouted, “I carried you yesterday, and you took all the food from me!”
He tried to throw him off, but could not, and again he had to carry him to the garden. Nader worked on his banana plantings, and then, already getting ready to go home, he cut two bunches, collected brushwood, brought water and tied everything with a rope made from a dry banana leaf. The other one was still sitting on his shoulders.
The man who looked at them and saw all this grabbed a bow and arrows and stood near the hill in which the evil creature lived. “Like yesterday,” he thought, “one sits on the other and doesn’t get off.” Then Nadera appeared with his burden, and at the very moment when the creature was jumping off him, the man who was watching them pierced him with an arrow. Nader immediately hit the evil creature with a stick, and it died.
“It’s good that you killed him,” Nader said to the man who rescued him, “he completely tortured me.”
They cut off the head and took it home to Nadera, and there they began to dance the dance that people dance when they bring home the heads of their enemies.
