Badai set off to wander. He walked and walked and saw that the temple was standing. Badai entered the temple, and there was no one there, apparently the lamas had gone somewhere.
Badai decided to rest and sit in silence. Suddenly he hears footsteps! Badai was afraid that the lama might take him for a thief, and hastily hid behind the image of Buddha.
The lama entered and placed a cup of food in front of the Buddha, but Badai saw that the lama was being cunning - instead of food there was water in the cup. Badai got angry: don’t be deceitful, Lama, he could have profited! Badai hasn't eaten anything since yesterday.
-Where is the tea and cereal? - Badai said menacingly.
The lama was dumbfounded, rushed away headlong and soon returned with a large bowl filled to the brim with rice.
-Where is the meat? - Badai said even more sternly.
The lama rushed to the kitchen and brought a large dish of lamb and a full jug of fragrant kumiss.
- Now get out of here! - Badai ordered.
The Lama, without ceasing to bow to the image of Buddha, left.
Badai came out of his hiding place and had a great lunch. And then he stretched out on the floor and fell fast asleep.
Early in the morning I left the hospitable temple of Badai, but I forgot my old shoes there.
The lama came to the temple, saw the shoes lying around, and decided that Buddha had left them on purpose. He placed the shoes in the middle of the temple, in the most honorable place, and the temple servants began to worship them.
