Once upon a time there lived a bird called the dawn. She was famous for her hospitality.

One day the bird was visited by distant relatives: a finch and a sparrow. Zoryanka wanted to feed and drink her guests to the full. But unfortunately the torment ended. Maybe the neighbors will help out... The bluebird ran to the titmouse, but she swore that she herself had been sitting without flour for several days and was starving. The co-rock didn't help at all. What was left to do? Perhaps the good nightingale will help out. But he lives far away, outside the village.

Zoryanka flew to the nightingale. He received it well, and that’s all: the nightingale had taken the corn to the mill in the morning, and now he sat without flour.

The saddened Zoryanka flew home. The guests sat and languished, waiting for the treat.

Zoryanka lost heart and decided to commit suicide. She took the knife and put it to her throat. The guests saw this, ran up and saved the bird, but it still managed to slightly injure its throat.

A trickle of blood flowed down his chest, turning it red. That is why the Zoryanka from that time began to be called the redbreast.
