Krishna was going to have dinner. He pinched off a piece of flatbread and began to chew, but suddenly jumped up and ran to the door. Rukmini, his wife, asked:
- What are you doing, my lord? Where are you going? What's the rush? Why so suddenly?
Krishna stopped at the door, waited a moment and returned back. He looked sad, sat down again and began to eat. Rukmini was surprised. She said:
“Now you have puzzled me even more.” Why did you jump up so suddenly? Why did you come back, why? You jumped up like there was a fire in the house. I don't see anything happening. And why did you come back if something happened?
Krishna replied:
- There was something. One of my followers is walking through the city. He sings my song, plays the veena, dances in the street - but people throw stones at him, and blood flows from his forehead. He does not react at all, he is absolutely silent, absolutely concentrated, absolutely helpless. I was needed to help him immediately.
And Rukmini asked:
“Then why did you come back from the door if you were needed so urgently?”
Krishna replied:
- The need has disappeared. The moment I reached the door, he picked up a stone. Now he helps himself. My help is no longer needed.
