One Shirinets had a cow with grip-like horns. One day the Shirinets forgot to feed her.
She broke the leash and left the barn. At the gate there was a large hum with boiled corn. The cow, bowing her head, pushed first one horn into the hum, then the other, and began to eat the corn.
Having stuffed her mouth with corn, she threw up her head to swallow the chewed food, but her horns got stuck in the huma's throat. And together with his head, the hum rose on its horns.
The cow began to roar out of fear and run around the yard. The owner returned from the field and rushed to the cow, but the hum was not removed. - Oh, I'm lost, now the hum will crack! - the owner shouted. And, not knowing what to do, he ran to the village sage for advice.
He advised:
“If you want to save hum, cut off the cow’s head, there is no other way out.”
Having run home, the owner immediately cut off the cow’s head, placed the intact hum in the corner of the yard, and began sweeping the barn.
The owner's wife, with a bucket in her hands, went out into the barnyard to milk the cow. Seeing her lying headless in the middle of the yard, she screamed:
- Hey, where's the cow's head? The husband calmly responded from the stable:
- Doi, doi, but don’t worry about your head, it’s in the hum!
