One young man was apprenticed to a famous martial arts master. Day after day, the young man did all the dirty and hard work in the Master’s house, and he did not even think of teaching him anything.

The young man endured it for a long time, and then he could not stand it and asked the older student:

- Why does the Master force me to do hard and dirty work every day and teach me nothing?

“This is the secret of our Teacher, thanks to which he raised many good warriors,” answered the senior student. “Not only do you strengthen your body through hard work and gain the skills for important movements; you simultaneously sharpen your will, gaining wisdom and peace.

After all, wisdom comes from patience, and peace comes from wisdom. Calmness serves as the basis of equanimity, which allows one to carry out any task without attachment or reluctance.
