The village farmer decided it was time to get married, so he saddled his mule and went to the city to find a wife. A little time passed and he met the woman whom he married. Together they climbed onto the mule and rode back to the farm. After some time, the mule stubbornly resisted and refused to move further. The farmer got down, found a large stick and began to beat the mule with it until it moved.
“One,” said the farmer.
After a few more miles, the mule stopped again, and the whole scene was repeated all over again. Having received the sticks, the mule rode again, and the farmer said:

After a few more miles the mule stopped for the third time. The farmer got down, told his wife to get down, took out his pistol and shot the mule in the eye, killing him where he stood.
- What stupidity! - the wife screamed. - This is a valuable animal, and you killed it only because it irritated you! This is stupid, cruel...” and she continued in the same vein for some time. When she paused to catch her breath, the farmer said:
- One.
And they say that after that they lived in a happy marriage for the rest of their lives!
That's one way to work things out, and that's how it's been done in the past. In the future it will be the other way around: the husband will have to follow his wife. But it's the same thing.
