One rich man had everything that people wanted. Millions of money, and a decorated palace, and a beautiful wife, and hundreds of servants, and luxurious dinners, and all sorts of snacks, and wine, and a full stable of expensive horses. And all this bored him so much that he spent the whole day sitting in his rich chambers, sighing and complaining of boredom. His only concern and joy was food. When he woke up, he expected breakfast, from breakfast he expected lunch, from lunch he expected dinner.
But he soon lost this joy too. He ate so much and so sweetly that his stomach deteriorated, and the urge to eat disappeared. He called the doctors. The doctors gave me medicine and told me to walk for two hours every day in nature.
And then one day he walks for his allotted two hours and keeps thinking about his grief, about the fact that there is no desire for food. And a beggar approached him.
“Give it,” he says, “for Christ’s sake, to a poor man.”
The rich man thinks about his grief, that he doesn’t want to eat, and doesn’t listen to the beggar.
“I’m sorry, master, I haven’t eaten all day.” The rich man heard about the food and stopped.
- Well, do you want to eat?
- How could you not want to, master, passion is what you want! “What a happy man,” thought the rich man,
envying the poor man.
