Guinea fowl and rooster

Guinea fowl and rooster

They say that before the guinea fowl and the rooster lived in the sky. One day they were drinking tuaka together. When they had nothing left, the guinea fowl said to the rooster:

- Go get some more tuaki!

“You’re younger than me,” the rooster disagreed, “so you should go.”

They argued which of them was older, and neither could convince the other. Then they went to the Sun and asked it to judge them.

“Go down to the ground,” said the Sun. - The one who first sees me emerging from the sea is the eldest.

There is nothing to do, two friends descended to the ground. To see the sunrise, the guinea fowl sat on the highest branch of the tree. The rooster calmly stayed at home, but as soon as the sun rose, he crowed: “Avi and zukii! Avi and zukii!” And the guinea fowl was late and sang: “Tratrandra fandriana! Tratrandra fandriana!”

Frustrated by the failure, she ran away and hid in the field. So she became wild, although she previously lived with a rooster.
