Once upon a time there lived a very rich man. But he was so greedy that he spared even his own bread.
One day someone invited him to visit. The rich man went. The owner of the house served many different dishes, and the guest began to eat.
First he tried the meat and ate a lot of it, because it was spicy, tasty and he really liked it. Then they served some kind of flour dish that just melted in your mouth. The miser ate it too. Then it was time for eggs and noodles.
Whatever was on the table, the rich man gave it its due.
After dinner, the owner served various fruits - apricots, melons, grapes, pears. The miser looked at them with hungry eyes, as if he had never seen such things in his life. In the end he ate all the fruit.
After he filled his belly with hot and cold food, he wanted to drink.
The rich man barely had time to pour his glasses. He drank so much that his stomach was swollen and about to burst. With the last of his strength, with great difficulty, the miser dragged himself home.
After some time he became very ill.
The family got scared:
- But look, he’s going to die.
We ran for the doctor.
- Haven't you eaten too much? - asks the doctor.
“Yes,” answered the rich man, “I was visiting and had a good lunch there.”
- What have you done?! - exclaimed the doctor. “The food is foreign, but your stomach is your own!”
- Yes, that's true. But there were so many treats and everything was so delicious! Is it conceivable to refuse a delicious and free lunch?
“Okay,” the doctor grinned, “what happened is past.” Now you need to take a medicine that will remove excess food from you.
- Oh no, I don’t want that kind of medicine! Now, if you find a medicine that improves digestion, go ahead! And if not, well, it’s easier to die on a full stomach. And there will be no other harm to me. You are free, go yourself.
