Two friends quarreled and stopped knowing each other. When we met, we didn’t even say hello. So a year passed. But friends intervened and, at the cost of great effort, managed to reconcile them.
One day, after reconciliation, friends went into the forest. We walked and walked, got tired and sat down to rest.
“I want to shave my head,” said one of them. “If you have a razor with you, shave me.”
“Well,” answered the second one. “I have a razor with me, and I will shave you.”
And he began to shave. And this man's heart was still full of hidden hatred. Putting the razor to his friend's throat, he suddenly says:
“We’re all alone here.” If I stab you now, no one will know about it.
“If you do this, the all-seeing One will find out anyway, tell our Sultan about it, and you will be punished.”
But he, driven by anger, as if he did not hear what was being said to him, slashed his friend’s throat with a razor and cut off his head. Then he dug a hole near the tree and buried the corpse. Since then, a feeling of fear has firmly settled in his soul. Days, months and years passed, and the crime was never solved. And the criminal calmed down.
Three years later, the killer remembered what had happened and headed into the forest to the tree near which he had buried his murdered friend. There he saw a large grape bush with bright green leaves. Large clusters of beautiful yellow fruits hung from the bush. They smelled fragrant, like musk. He reached out his hand, picked a bunch and ate several grapes. They seemed sweeter to him than sugar, and he was surprised, especially since it was winter, when grapes usually do not ripen. He went home, took a basket, returned, filled it to the top with grapes and decided to take these beautiful fruits, ripened at the wrong time, to the Sultan, the ruler of his country.
Presenting himself before the Sultan, this man fell on his face, kissed the ground and presented him with a gift. The Sultan was amazed that the grapes, and even so beautiful and fragrant, were ripe in winter, took a bunch from the basket and suddenly shouted:
- What did you bring?! I see a shaved death's head there!
A man looked into the basket and saw: his friend’s head was lying there, and blood was dripping from it.
- But I only brought bunches of grapes! - he cried in fright.
And he had to tell the whole story from the very beginning. The Sultan listened to him and said:
“The All-Seeing One revealed your crime and informed me about it.” And now I order: cut his throat, as he did with his friend.
