Good peasant

One peasant saddled his horse and rode to the city to buy soybeans. In the city he bought twelve bags of soybeans.

“Your horse won’t lift more than eight drums,” the merchant told him, “leave four here.” You'll come get them tomorrow.

“I have an old horse,” answered the peasant. “Eight cushions are too many for her.” I'll only load six on her, and I'll drag the rest myself.

That’s what he did: he loaded six of the canisters onto his horse, and the remaining six onto his back. Then he climbed onto the horse and rode off.

The horse took a step or two and stopped. Her legs were shaking. It was obvious that she would not make it to the village.

- What an ungrateful animal! - the peasant shouted. “Others load eight bags on their horses, but I feel sorry for you - I carry six bags on myself.” Why are you still resisting?
