The next day he took it and brought it to his father. The father took the coin and threw it into the river. “Well, father, now will you bless me for marriage?” – asked the young man. “No, son.” I told you that you have to earn money yourself. But you didn’t earn this coin. The young man shrugged: how did his father know the truth? After all, the young man really didn’t earn this money.
The next day he asked his mother for a gold coin. He took it and took it to his father. And again the father threw the gold into the river. The young man was even more surprised, but still asked: “Why did you do this?” I brought you a gold coin, as you asked. Now will you bless me? And again the father refused his son, saying: “You didn’t earn this money.”
The young man thought. He thought that this could be repeated for a long time, and he would never receive a blessing for the wedding. And he decided to find a job and earn a gold coin himself. Many days passed and the young man was able to earn a gold coin with his own labor. He took it to his father.
When the father intended to throw this coin into the river, the young man could not stand it - he rushed to him, grabbed his hand and said in despair: “No, father, don’t do this!” I bent my back for many days to earn this coin, and you so easily want to throw it into the water! - Now, son, I bless you for starting a family. - said the father. - Now you have learned the value of money that you earned through your own labor and you will spend it wisely. So, the young man got married and never squandered his money.
