A man was drowning in a swamp. He was completely immersed in the quagmire, and only his head was still peeking out of it. The unfortunate man screamed at the top of his lungs, asking for help. Soon a whole crowd gathered at the scene. There was one brave soul who wanted to save the drowning man.
- Give me your hand! - he shouted to him. - I will pull you out of the swamp.
But the drowning man cried out for help and did nothing so that he could help him.
-Give me your hand! - the man kept repeating to him.
In response, only plaintive cries for help were heard. Then another man came out from the crowd and said:
“You see that he can’t give you his hand.” Give him yours, then you can save him.
