Gift for mom

Gift for mom

One Jewish mother had three sons. When they grew up, they all became successful businessmen and got rich, and my mother grew old and lived alone in a small house. And so the sons decided to give their mother gifts.

The eldest son said:

“I bought a huge house for my mother with forty rooms, with servants and a doorman. Let my mother live in luxury at least in her old age.

The middle son said:

— And I bought a luxury car for my mother and hired a personal driver. Let my mother travel in comfort even in her old age.

And the youngest son said:

- And I outdid you all. You don't even know what our mother loves most. And most of all, my mother loves to read the Torah. But she is already old and has poor vision. So I came up with an idea: for twelve years, twenty rabbis taught this parrot the Torah, and now he reads the entire Torah by heart. He just needs to say the chapter number and he starts right away.

The brothers agreed that this was a wonderful gift.

After some time, the sons came to visit their mother and began to ask:

- Well, mom, how do you like our gifts, has your life become better?

And mother said to the eldest:

- Thank you, son, for such a good gift - a house with forty rooms, but what do I need them for? I still only sit in my room alone.

She said to her middle son:

- Thank you, son, for such a wonderful car with a driver, but where should I go in my old age? I don’t have anything to do, and I can’t see well. So I can’t admire the views from the car window.

And she said to her youngest son:

- But you, son, pleased me! You know what mom needs. That chicken soup you sent me was absolutely wonderful.
