Fox, turtle and ant

Fox, turtle and ant

One day a fox, a turtle and an ant went traveling.

All three of them were walking and on one side of the road they saw scattered millet. They stood and thought: “What should we do with this millet?” The fox came up with the idea first and said:

- Let's take it and sow it! When we collect the harvest, we will divide it equally! The turtle and the ant agreed with the fox and collected millet.

“Now we must find a suitable field for sowing!” - said the turtle. And all three companions went to look for a field for sowing.

- This is where we need to sow millet! - the ant said, stopping. The fox and turtle agreed with the ant, and they all got down to business.

After working a little, the fox suddenly looked at the hill and said:

- Oh, friends, this hill can fall on our field and destroy our work! Let's do this: you plow the ground, I will stand and support the hill.

The fox said so, went over the hill and calmly went to bed.

In the evening, having finished plowing the field, the turtle and the ant went to look for a place to rest and at that time they noticed a fox. The fox also noticed them and, oohing and aahing, began to hit him with the ketmen and said: .

“I went on time, the hill had already begun to tip over onto our field: our work would have been lost, and we ourselves would have died!..

The turtle and the ant believed the fox. The next day they sowed millet and began to wait for the harvest.

Autumn has come. As before, the two of them, an ant and a turtle, squeezed ripe, ripe millet. But at this time a fox appeared from somewhere. She looked at the golden mountain of millet with admiration, walked around it and said:

“Friends, we haven’t harvested much, so we shouldn’t share it.” Let's bet whoever wins will get the harvest.

- What are we going to bet on? - asked the turtle.

“Whichever of the three of us runs out from under that elm tree at the same time and reaches the millet first, will receive the entire harvest!”

The turtle and the ant were forced to agree and went with the fox under the elm tree.

- Get ready! - the fox shouted. The turtle and the ant got ready to run.

- Let's run! - the fox commanded and she herself ran at full speed before anyone else.

The Spirit Ant, without wasting any time, immediately grabbed the fox’s tail. The fox was the first to run up to the millet and quietly laid her fluffy

tail and shouted loudly:

“So the harvest is mine!” the fox shouted and laughed smugly.

- Hey, fox, raise your tail, otherwise you will crush me! - suddenly, unexpectedly for the fox, the ant shouted. - “Mine,” you say? No, I ran here a long time ago!

“Could you have come here before me?” I will never believe that you could run faster than me!..

Lisa started a scandal. Then the turtle crawled in. She took the ant's side and said:

- Dear friend, stop making trouble! Don't you know that two hunting dogs are looking for you? They met me and pestered me to show them your house. But I didn’t give you away and said “I don’t know,” and for this the dogs bit me so badly!.. Do you hear them barking? The dogs are running in this direction again...

Hearing about the dogs, the fox believed the turtle and immediately ran away out of fear. So the turtle and the ant got rid of the cunning fox, divided the millet harvest among themselves and provided themselves with food for the whole winter.
