Fox-gossip

The fox wanted to eat honey. She only eats meat, but nothing sweet.

“I should go,” he says, “to the bees, or something, to manage something.”

She came to the apiary, sat down comfortably in front of the hive and stuck her paw there to get the honey. But the bees didn’t like it: how they would fly out of the hive, how they would attack the fox!.. Wow, how she would rush out of the apiary! He runs, just twists his nose and complains about the bees.

- Oh, my God! How sweet the honey is, and how bitter the bees are!

I ran home. The whole muzzle is swollen and lies down. I lay and lay there, thinking and thinking, but I really wanted honey.

“I’ll go,” he says, “to the bear.” I’ll ask him to live with him, he has a lot of honey. Comes.

- Brother bear, what can I tell you? And he just rumbles. And the fox:

- Don’t rumble so scary, brother bear, otherwise I’ll get scared... Let’s live together, I’ll be your hostess.

- Let's! - says the bear. So they began to live together.

The bear will go hunting, bring beef - and there will be enough for himself and the fox. And she still wants honey.

- Go and go, old man, to the apiary and bring some honey! There is nothing to do, the bear brought honey and dragged two whole hives.

“Here,” he says, “we’ll eat from one, and hide the other for the winter.”

They ate and ate and after a while they ate all the honey. And the other hive was hidden in the attic. The bear is in no hurry, but the fox really wants it. I thought and thought about how it would be to eat from the second hive. I would go, but the bear would immediately ask where and why. There she lies, tapping her tail on the wall. The bear asks:

- What's knocking there?

- Yes, they’re knocking, they’re inviting me to the godfather.

- Well, go ahead; and I'll sleep.

She went straight to the attic, and to that hive, and ate as much as she wanted. Then he returns. The bear woke up:

- Well, what was your godson's name?

- Yes, fix it.

- What a wonderful name!

- Yes, what a hit. How wonderful it is!

- OK.

The next day he lies there again, tapping and tapping on the wall with his tail.

The bear asks:

-What's that knocking?

- Yes, they invite me to be godfather.

- Well, go ahead, and I’ll sleep. She went again to that hive, but there was little left in it. He returns, and the bear wakes up and asks:

- Well, what was your godson's name?

- Yes, Seredinka. And the bear:

- Those are all the wonderful names your godchildren have! And the fox:

- What are you thinking, old man? How can they be so wonderful if there is also Saint Sereda.

“Maybe it’s true,” says the bear. On the third day she lies there again, tapping and tapping her tail on the wall. And the bear:

- Who is that knocking and knocking?

- Yes, they call me godfather.

- Oh, how often they call you godfather! - says the bear.

- Uh, old man, people love me.

- Well, then go!

She went and ate all the honey, also knocked over the hive and licked it clean.

Then she came running, lay down and lay there. The bear asks:

- Well, what’s your godson’s name?

- How so? Turn it over and lick it.

- Wow, such a name has never happened before in the world! - What are you making up, old man? What do you know, priest?

- Well, let it be your way!

A little later the bear says:

- It’s time to enjoy some honey! I climbed into the attic, and the hive was empty.

- Little fox-sister, did you eat this?

- No, not me!

- No, you!

- Yes, I wouldn’t even live through yesterday if I ate it!

“You’re lying, little fox, you didn’t baptize your godchildren, you ate the honey.” Now I'll eat you!

And to her, and she ran away from him into the forest.
