Fox, deer and raven

Fox, deer and raven

In ancient times, there lived a fox, a deer and a raven. Every day in the morning they went in different directions in search of food, and in the evening they got together again and told each other where they could profit. One day the fox was unlucky: she spent the whole day looking for prey, but never found anything. And the hungry fox envied the deer: he found grass everywhere and always returned home well-fed. The fox decided to kill the deer and said to him:

- Listen, deer, I know one large pasture in the west. The grass there is delicious, delicious. Go there tomorrow and you'll eat your fill.

The deer believed and the next day set off on its journey. He walked and walked and came to a field where thick rye grew. But he never managed to feast on it - he immediately fell into a trap. In the evening the fox and the raven returned home, but the deer was gone. The raven became worried and asked the fox:

-Where did our deer go?

The fox showed him to the pasture. A raven flew to a rye field and saw a deer in a trap. Raven says to him:

“I’ll fly to the owner of the field, sit on his yurt and shout: “Get the rope ready!” The old man will immediately come running to you, but you lie there and don’t move. He will think that you are lifeless, will free you from the trap, and he will sit next to you to smoke. Then you jump up and run as fast as you can.

A raven flew to the yurt where the old man lived and shouted: “Get the rope ready, the deer is in a trap!” The old man jumped out of the yurt and rushed into the field. He sees: a beautiful deer lies and does not move, as if dead. The old man was delighted with the good catch, opened the trap, then wiped the sweat from his face and sat down to smoke. Then the deer jumped up and took off running. The old man swore, again alerted the trap and trudged home empty-handed, cursing himself for his roteness.

And the fox waits and waits: the deer and the raven still do not return. She decided to go into the field: maybe she could profit from deer offal. Yes, and I fell into a trap!
