One day a fox stole some cheese and ran with it to his hole. On the way she meets a wolf.

-Where are you going, godfather? - asks the wolf. - For the wedding, kumanek. “Take me with you, gossip,” the wolf asks. “Look what you want,” says the fox, “you don’t even have a gift.” – What gift should I bring to the wedding? - asks the wolf. - Cheese, of course. - Where can I get it? “In that river over there,” says the fox, “there were two cheeses, I took one, the other was left.”

“Show me where it is,” the wolf asks. The fox agreed. They approached the river and saw the moon reflected in the water. Lisa says:

- Here's the cheese. - How can I, godfather, get to the cheese? - asks the wolf. “Drink the river,” the fox answers, “and the cheese will remain at the bottom.”

The wolf drank and drank and burst. The fox took a long bast, pulled the wolf's belly, and he began to drink again until he drank all the water; he looks and there is no more cheese.

“Apparently, while we were drinking, someone took the cheese,” says the fox. - Well, let's go to the wedding with just cheese.

OK. They came to the wedding and started dancing. Then the fox pulled his bast, which was tightening the wolf’s belly. Water gushed from the belly and flooded the entire hut.

People pounced on the wolf and beat him, but the fox didn’t yawn - she collected all the cheeses and pies, and that’s all they saw.

The fox had enough prey for a long time.

And they killed the wolf, sold its skin and bought a gun with that money. The fox was shot with that gun. And they found her hole, and there were fox cubs in it. The hunter killed the fox cubs and sold their skins. And he made a collar for his fur coat from the fox itself.
