One fox lived or did not live near Khunzakh. She heard that a neighboring village had burned down and decided to go there. “Suddenly,” he thinks, “something will fall out: either an old fur coat, or a torn boot.”
On the way, the fox saw a singing quail. She pretended to be surprised and said:
- How well you sing. I am sure that only eyes can produce such beautiful sounds.
“You’re stupid,” exclaimed the quail. “Where have you heard that before, so that your eyes sing?”
“You try to sing with your eyes closed,” the fox suggested.
The quail closed her eyes and sang loudly. And the fox crept up to the quail, grabbed it and ate it.
