One day I looked through the windows of my house, through my bars, and saw among the inexperienced, among the young people, a foolish young man crossing the square near its corner and walking along the road to her house, at dusk in the evening of the day, in the darkness of the night and in the darkness. And behold, a woman approached him, dressed as a harlot, with a treacherous heart, noisy and unbridled. Her feet do not live in her house: now on the street, now in the squares, and at each corner she builds her own forges.
She grabbed him, kissed him, and with a shameless face said to him:
- I have a peace offering: today I have fulfilled my vows. That’s why I came out to meet you to find you, and I found you. I made my bed with carpets and colorful Egyptian fabrics. I scented my bedroom with myrrh, aloe and cinnamon. Come in, let's revel in tenderness until the morning, let's enjoy love, because my husband is not at home: he has gone on a long journey; I took the purse of silver with me; will come home on the day of the full moon.
She captivated him with many kind words, and with the softness of her lips took possession of him. Immediately he followed her, like an ox to the slaughter, and like a dog to a chain, and a deer to a shot, until the arrow pierced his liver. Like a bird throwing itself into a snare, and not knowing that it is for its destruction.
So, children, listen to me and pay attention to the words of my mouth. Let not your heart turn aside from her path, do not wander in her paths, for she has cast down many wounded, and many mighty have been slain by her: her house is the path to the underworld, descending into the inner dwellings of death.
