Once upon a time there was a fish, a simple fish. One day, after listening to enthusiastic stories about the Ocean, she decided that she had to get there, no matter what the cost.
The fish went to different sages. Many of them had nothing to say, but they made up all sorts of nonsense in order to look like great teachers in the eyes of fools. One of these fish said that to reach the Ocean one must practice the poses of the first stage of the eightfold path of flawlessly swimming fish. Another fish guru taught that the path to the Ocean lies through studying the worlds of enlightened fish. The third one said:
“The only possibility is to repeat the mantra “Ram-ram-ram...” all the time. Only then will the path open.
Tired of various teachings, the fish swam to rest in the seaweed. And there she met an old, inconspicuous fish. She said to the seeker fish:
- Fool! The ocean you are looking for is all around you. You are also part of the Ocean, although you don’t notice it. He is inside you, and outside you, and you are his favorite part!
