There lived one person in the world. He once went hunting, wandered through the forest all day, but never shot anything. He became depressed and was about to turn towards the house, when he suddenly heard someone’s voice from the thicket:
“Give me the one who first looks at you in your house, and you will have such booty that you will not be able to take it with you.”
The man rejoiced and said:
- I agree.
And then he became so eager that he barely had time to raise his gun. He shot so much that he couldn’t even take it all with him. He approached the house, opened the door, and the eyes of his beautiful daughter immediately looked at him. The hunter became very sad here. His wife and children became his
asking him why he was so sad, and on such a good day. For a long time he did not want to open up to them, but finally he said:
- My dear wife and children! I wandered through the forest all day today, but didn’t shoot anything. And he had already decided to return home empty-handed, when suddenly he heard a voice from the thicket. And this voice told me that if I give him the one who first looks at me in my house, I will have such rich booty that I will not even be able to take it with me. I thought about the little dog that is always the first to greet me when I return from hunting, and I said that I agree. But my daughter met me at the door, she was the first to look at me with her eyes. So I’m sad because, against my will, I have to take her into the thicket and leave her there.
Then his wife says to him:
- Here’s another thing, it’s very necessary! Don’t go hunting there anymore, that’s all!
The hunter listened to his wife’s advice and decided not to go hunting for now. But a little time passed, all the supplies in the house ran out, and the hunter saw that he needed to take his gun and go into the forest. He had barely entered the edge of the forest when suddenly a monster flew up above his head, all in flames, and shouted to him:
- Give me what you promised, or I will burn you! Give me what you promised, or I will burn you!
The hunter rushed to the house as fast as he could and said to his wife and children:
“Let’s run away from here quickly, otherwise the monster will kill us all!” .
They rushed to run wherever they looked, and the monster followed them and threatened them with a terrible voice:
- Give me what you promised, or I will burn you all! Give me what you promised, or I will burn you all!
They run, and a bull meets them.
- What's wrong with you? - he asks the fugitives.
“A terrible monster is chasing us, it destroys everything in its path!”
“Just think,” the bull tells them, “I’ll gore him now!”
They stopped and hid behind the bull. But as soon as the bull saw the monster, he immediately began to tremble.
“Let’s run, friend,” he says to the hunter, “this monster is not to be trifled with!”
They all started running together: the hunter, his family and the bull. They run with all their strength, and the monster follows them:
- Give me what you promised, or I will burn you all! Give me what you promised, or I will burn you all!
As they were running, suddenly a horse met them, and she boasted that the monster would kill him. But she saw the monster, she also chickened out and ran faster than an arrow.
And all the animals that came across the fugitives were frightened by the monster and took flight. The fugitives are completely exhausted, they are about to drop dead, when suddenly they see: a cricket sitting near its hole and wearing its boots. And the cricket shouts to the fugitives:
“Where are you running, senor, with your whole family?”
“A terrible monster is chasing us, it destroys everything in its path!”
- Hide in my house quickly! Before they had time to hide, a fiery monster appeared:
- Give me what you promised, or I will burn everyone! Give me what you promised, or I will burn everyone!
The monster saw a cricket and asked:
“Didn’t a man run through here with his wife and children?”
But the cricket did not answer him and continued to pierce the skin with an awl and crackle. The monster asks him again, but the cricket keeps quiet. Then the monster got angry, rushed at the cricket and swallowed it in an instant.
And the cricket ended up in the monster’s stomach and let’s cut its intestines with your shoe knife. He cut his entire belly, and that was the end of the monster. Then a cricket crawled out of his belly and shouted:
- Senor, you can go home with your family!
The hunter came out of his hiding place and saw a dead monster. He thanked the cricket, returned home and from then on began to live and live with his wife and children and hunt as much as he liked - after all, the monster, the owner of the forest, was no longer alive.
