Father's wedding

Father's wedding

My father was a widower for a long time and finally got ready to get married. Everything had to be prepared for the wedding feast. So he sent me to the mill to take forty pounds of corn and grind it.

I chose the largest goose from the henhouse, put corn on it and drove it. When he reached the mill, he unloaded it and let him graze in the clearing, his legs thoroughly tangled. I spent the whole night grinding.

In the morning I went out into the clearing and saw that my goose was lying on its back, and the wolf was gnawing out its side. I grabbed an ax and rushed towards the wolf, but he managed to escape. What to do? I chopped some branches, braided them around the side of the goose so that the insides wouldn’t fall out, loaded it with flour, and we returned home.

My father’s wedding was magnificent, there was plenty of everything, but in the morning my father told me that there was not enough wine and I had to get it at any cost.

We kept two dragonflies in the barn. I took them out, saddled them and rushed to Gvada. There I bought thirty buckets of wine, poured them into wineskins and loaded them onto the dragonflies. I tied them together with a harness, sat down in the middle, clapped my hands - the dragonflies flew, and soon we were home. The wine was running out, I arrived on time. Everyone praised me!
