When King Anovshirvan traveled with his retinue around the country, he came to a deserted mountainous area in which there were not even poor shepherds' huts. The king's cook complained:
- O great lord! After all, I am here to please your taste. And in the kitchen tent there is not a grain of salt, without which any food will taste disgusting. O great king, what should I do?
Anovshirvan replied:
- Go back to the nearest village. There you will probably find a merchant who has salt for sale. Be careful not to buy more than usual.
“Great king,” the cook was surprised, “there is more gold in your chests than anywhere else in the world.” What's the big deal if I pay a little more for salt? After all, such a trifle will not make you poorer.
The king looked seriously and said:
“It’s precisely from the little things that all the injustices in the world arise.” Little things are like drops, from which, in the end, a whole sea is formed. All great injustices begin with small things. So go and buy salts at the regular price.
