In the past, one man walked along the edge of our land. I saw a large swamp, through which the animal did not cross, the bird did not fly.
A person is interested in knowing what land is beyond the swamp, what animals and birds live. He ran and jumped across the swamp.
Behind that large swamp, our man saw saddled hares standing. Immediately, small eternal people who rode these hares appeared from under the ground. The eternal people told our man:
“A predatory beast, the sable, appeared on our land, caught one of the eternal people and tore his throat out. -Are you a hunter? Kill us that sable.
Our man went hunting, killed a predatory sable and brought it to the eternal people. The eternal people rejoiced.
-You did a good deed for us. We will thank you - we will bring you living water. Go to your land and wait for us.
Our hunter returned to his valley and told all his relatives that soon eternal people would come to visit them and bring living water for everyone to drink. All people will be eternal.
They began to wait for guests. Our women went to chop wood for the fires. They see little eternal people riding on saddled hares. Our women felt funny and started laughing:
- Look, look, what kind of cattle they have! How tiny they are!..
The eternal people were offended and decided not to give us living water. They splashed it onto the trees - cedar, spruce and pine. And they themselves left for a large swamp, to their own land.
Since then, cedar, spruce and pine have always been green. This is from the eternal - living water.
