Marduk sits on the throne, the other gods praise him, but ask him to prove his power. At Marduk's word he disappears, and then a star appears, and no one doubts his greatness. The almighty god arms himself for battle, takes a bow, arrows, a mace, and a net. The seven winds serve Marduk, and the four hurricanes, a gift from Anu, he harnessed to a chariot and rushed into battle, holding the herb of spells in his hand.

First, Marduk and Tiamat exchange mutual accusations, and then the battle begins. The Lord throws a net over the foremother and sends a violent whirlwind into her womb. He then pierced her with an arrow, cut open her insides and took out her heart. After defeating the leader, Marduk destroys her entire army, takes Kinga prisoner and takes away the tables of destinies from him. Moving a little away from the battle, the almighty god cut into pieces the body of the defeated Tiamat. He raised one half up and made it heaven, and the other half earth. In heaven he created Esharra - a similarity to the earthly dwelling of Apsu - and settled Anu, Enlil and Ea there.

A throne of honor was erected for him.

Before the fathers he sat down to participate in the Council:

“How glorious are you among the great gods,

Your destiny is incomparable, your Word is Anu!

Marduk, most glorious among the great gods,

Your destiny is incomparable, your Word is Anu!

From now on your command is immutable,

To exalt, to overthrow - in your hand now!

Your speeches are true, your words are not false,

None of the gods will cross your borders!

You are the support and wisdom of the temples of God,

From now on you will take a place in their sanctuaries!

Only you, O Marduk, are our avenger!

Over the entire universe we give you a kingdom!

Sit in the Council, your Word is sovereign!

May your weapon be without a miss, may it defeat the enemy’s strength!

Whomever you believe, his life is saved, O Lord!

But God, who has planned evil, destroy his soul!”

They placed the star between them.

The first-born Marduk was told this:

“You are exalted, Lord, above all the gods!

Destroy, create - order it, it will be done!

Say the Word and let the star disappear!

“Come back!” - command - and it will appear again!”

At the word of his lips, the star disappeared.

“Come back!” - he ordered, and she appeared.

Father Gods, seeing the power of the Word,

They rejoiced and rejoiced: “Only Marduk is the ruler!”

They gave him a rod, a throne and a royal robe,

A victorious weapon that defeats enemies.

“Go, end Tiamat’s life!

Let the winds scatter her blood to hidden places!”

How the father gods decided the fate of the Lord,

By luck, by the road of success, they were allowed.

He chose the bow as his weapon in battle,

I made the arrows and attached the string.

He grabbed the mace with his right hand,

He hung his bow and quiver at his side.

He released lightning in front of him,

Filled the body with a sparkling flame.

He made a net to catch Tiamat from within,

He set four winds so that nothing would come out of her,

A gift from his father Anu, he arranged the winds along the network.

He created the Destroying Wind, Hurricane and Sandstorm,

Four-powerful wind, seven-squall,

Rebellious, Fickle Wind.

He directed the winds that he created, the whole seven,

They stood behind him to shake Tiamat from the inside.

The flood, a formidable weapon, was raised by the Lord.

He mounted the terrible chariot - the invincible Whirlwinds.

He set them up, he harnessed the whole four into a team:

Murderer, Villain, Stomper, Quick Jumper.

Their mouths are grinning, their fangs are poisonous.

They know no peace, they know murder.

He placed the Fierce Fight and Onslaught on the right,

And to the left he put Otpor - repelling blows.

He was covered with horror, like a cloak.

He surrounded the head with a menacing radiance.

The ruler came out and rushed forward,

He headed his furious path towards Tiamat.

He put a spell in his mouth,

He held the poisonous herbs in his hand.

And then they rushed around him, the gods rushed around him.

The gods, his fathers, began to rush about, the gods began to rush around him.

The Lord approached to look into Tiamat,

King, her husband, to scout out the plans.

He looks and his gait falters,

The mind is clouded, thoughts are confused.

And the helper gods who stood next to him,

Their faces darkened as they saw the hero.

He cast a spell, but Tiamat did not move her neck.

There is wild anger on her lips, treachery in her mind.

“Why did you go out and the gods huddled together so closely?

They moved from their places to take your place?!”

The flood, a formidable weapon, was raised by the Lord.

Tiamat was enraged, so he shouted to her:

“Why are you offering good for the sake of appearance,

Do you imagine battle with an evil heart?

The sons screamed - their fathers despised them,

And you, their foremother, hate mercy!

You chose Kinga as your lover,

She ordained Ana, who doesn’t owe him!

You have prepared evil for the lord of the gods Anshar!

And to the gods, my fathers, you are also plotting evil!

Let your troops be ready, let your weapons be raised!

Stand up! You and I will fight!”

When Tiamat heard this,

My thoughts were clouded, I lost my mind.

Roared, soaring upward, Tiamat,

From the bottom to the top her carcass shook:

He casts spells and mutters spells.

And the gods sharpen their weapons for battle.

Tiamat and Marduk went against each other, he is the wisest of the gods,

They rushed into battle and fought.

The Lord spread a net and entangled it with a net.

He let the evil Whirlwind that was behind him go before him,

Tiamat's mouth has opened - she wants to devour him,

He drove a Whirlwind into her - she cannot close her lips.

Violent winds filled her womb,

Her body swelled, her mouth opened.

He shot an arrow and cut her womb,

He cut her insides, captured her heart.

He overpowered her, he ended her life.

The corpse was thrown by her, he stepped on it.

How he killed the leader Tiamat, -

Her army was scattered, her troops fled.

And the gods-companions who performed with her,

Trembling with fear, we turned back,

They ran away, saving their lives,

But they found themselves surrounded and unable to escape.

He took them prisoner and smashed their weapons.

Thrown into the net, we find ourselves trapped.

They huddled in the corners and sobbed heavily.

They were punished and ended up in prison.

And the eleven, those who threatened with fear,

The crowd of creatures that walked with her from the right,

He threw them into chains, tied their hands,

He trampled all their army under him.

And King, who was in charge of everyone, -

He chained him up and handed him over to the Demon of Death.

He tore out the tables of destinies that he had not rightfully received,

He sealed it with a seal and hid it on his chest.

How he defeated and destroyed his adversaries,

Like a bull trampled the arrogant enemies.

He strengthened the glory of Anshar over his enemies.

The dreams of Nudimmud were fulfilled by the bravest Marduk,

He secured victory over the chained gods.

He returned again to Tiamat, who he had defeated.

The Lord stepped on Tiamat's feet.

He cut her skull with a merciless mace.

He cut her veins and her blood flowed

The north wind drove to hidden places,

The fathers watched and rejoiced in joy.

They sent him gifts of kindness.

The Lord calmed down and looked at her body.

He cut her carcass open and created an ingenious device.

He cut her in half like a shell.

I took half and covered the sky with it.

He made locks, placed guards, -

Let them make sure no water leaks out.

Crossed the firmament, surveyed the space.

He invented the likeness of Apsu, the palace of Nudimmud.

The size of Apsu was measured by the Lord.

Esharra created his reflection.

Esharra, the idol that he placed in the sky.

He arranged camps for Anu, Enlil and Aya in their constellation sanctuaries.
