Anshar sends Gaga, his ambassador, to Lahmu and Laham. Gaga must explain all events to the elder gods. The story about Tiamat’s preparation for battle is thus repeated twice through the mouth of Anshar, as an order, and then directly through the mouth of Gaga, who also reports on the conditions of Marduk. Having learned about everything, Lahmu and Lahamu are horrified. Anshar calls a meeting of the gods and tells them about Marduk's proposal. A luxurious feast and a large amount of wine contribute to the fact that the gods decide to give Marduk primacy over them.
They gathered and went together -
All the great gods who decide destinies
They came to Anshar and filled Ubshukin.
They kissed each other and hugged each other in the Council.
We had conversations, sat down at a feast,
They ate the bread and drank the wine.
Sweet drink ran into their guts,
They are heavy with their flesh from beer,
They rejoiced greatly, their livers leaped,
And Marduk, the avenger, was given his fate.
