A poor man once hired himself as a farm laborer for a famous beau. Bai lived only with his wife; they had no children. It was agreed that the poor man would work for three years, eat from the bai three times a day, and at the end of the third year he would receive what he had earned in three years.
One day they told him to bring water, but the poor man, pretending to be asleep, did not go for water. Because of this, he was not fed for three days. On the third day the Bai sent him to fetch firewood.
So the poor man went into the forest and met a bear there. Without thinking twice, the poor man caught the bear and harnessed it to a sleigh. He loaded a sleigh full of firewood and arrived at the bai.
Bai and his wife were scared to death when they saw the bear, and began to beg the poor man to let the bear go. The poor man let the bear go. They fed the poor man enough and put him to bed.
Three days passed like this. Again the Bai ordered to bring firewood. The poor man went into the forest, dragging a heavy sleigh behind him. But then he saw a polar bear, caught it and harnessed it to a sleigh. Singing, the poor man rode into the village to visit the bai. The boy and his wife were more frightened than ever. They began to beg the poor man to let the bear go. But the poor man did not even think of letting him go. He told the boy:
- Give me what I should get for three years, and in addition pay for food for three years. If you don’t give it back, you will have to deal with a polar bear, he is very hungry now.
There was nothing to do, the bai had to give the poor man everything he asked for. The poor man went home, brought a lot of money and a lot of meat, flour and other various products. The enterprising poor man got rich and began to live and live well and make good money.
