Easy and difficult

The son returned home after a long study.

- What have you learned, son?

“We were taught many difficult things. You still won’t understand what’s the point of telling, father.

Then the father asked his son to hammer a nail into each board in the fence. The son, of course, was indignant, but his father asked him to do it at least out of respect.

The son diligently hammered nails for half a day. When his father asked him if it was difficult for him, he replied that it was very easy. The next day, his father asked him to remove all the nails from the fence, promising to explain the meaning later.

It was much more difficult to pull out the nails, and my son barely managed to do it in the evening.

- Was it difficult for you to do this? - asked the father.

- Yes, this is unpleasant and tedious work.

— Are there any traces of nails left in the boards?

“Of course,” the son answered.

“So,” said the father, casually offending the person, it’s like we’re hammering a nail, and it’s very easy to do it. By apologizing and repenting of our actions, it’s as if we are pulling out this nail, and it’s much harder to do this, but despite this, a mark in the Soul still remains, like a hole in a fence. Remember this son! This is the most important science in life!
