One man had a dream that he had to go to Prague and there, on the bridge, he would find a treasure. He told his dream to his wife, and she said:
- Believing in dreams is like chasing your shadow. And the next night he still dreams of the same dream. He did not listen to his wife, took all the money that was in the house and went to Prague.
I came and quickly went to the bridge. He walks and looks at his feet. He walked and walked, back and forth, but couldn’t find anything—there was nothing on the bridge. He felt offended that he had wasted his time and money, but had nothing to do - he had to go home.
He passes by a house that stands near the bridge, and a soldier comes out and asks him:
- What are you doing here, good man? I kept looking at you: you’ve already crossed the bridge a hundred times. He answers:
“I had no peace at night: I kept having the same dream, that I would find treasure on the bridge. My wife tried to dissuade me from wasting my time and money, but I didn’t listen, and now I see for myself: don’t look where you didn’t put it.
“That’s how to believe in dreams,” says the soldier. “And it was the same with me: I kept dreaming that in the village where you came from, in the last house, under the stove, there was a treasure.” If I went there, I would probably also return empty-handed.
And the man listens and is surprised to himself - after all, the soldier is talking about his house. But he didn’t say anything to the soldier and quickly went back. He thinks: “That’s why I probably had to go to Prague, to hear on the bridge from a soldier about the treasure, which, it turns out, lies in my own house.”
He came home, his wife laughed at him and asked:
- Well, hubby, did you bring a lot of money? And the husband answers:
“I didn’t bring anything, but now I’ll start disassembling the stove.” The wife got really angry:
- Oh, you fool! It’s not enough for you that you’ve wasted so much time, wasted so much money, but you also want to destroy the house and break the stove.
But the husband doesn’t listen to anything, grabbed a crowbar and started breaking the stove. I broke and broke, but there was no treasure.
It’s true what people say: don’t chase after other people’s property!
