One day a poor man came to the Wise Pig for advice.

“My father recently died and left three dogs as an inheritance. I have nothing to protect, so I decided to eat them, but I don’t know how best to manage the inheritance, which dog to slaughter first and what dishes to cook from them? - the peasant asked the Pig.

The pig felt sorry for the dogs, and she said to the poor man:

“Your inheritance can feed a smart person for the rest of his life, but not enough for a stupid person even for a week.” Bring dogs to me, and in exactly a month I will teach you how to benefit from them and turn it into food.

Exactly a month later, the peasant came to the pig and saw a new house not far from the pigsty, in the courtyard of which well-fed and brushed dogs lay on soft pillows, just the ones that he had inherited.

“Here is your house and your dogs,” said the Pig to the peasant. “There is enough food in the house for all of you for a long time, and in the jade boxes there is money for all sorts of things.” Tomorrow morning people will start coming to you for healing. You will find medicines in wicker boxes, but every day you must replenish their supplies. Now listen and remember.

Here the Pig told the peasant how and against what diseases to use the wool, feces and blood of black, yellow and white dogs, but did not tell him how to use their bile and meat, so as not to deprive the poor man of a source of well-being, and the dogs of life.

It is truly useful to know about the essence and purpose of things.
