Dog and cat

Dog and cat

In ancient times, only cats could track prey by smell. The dog found out about this and realized that this was an excellent way to get food for itself: after all, all other animals must first see the prey, but the cat finds it by smell. And so the dog went to the cat and said to him:

- Please teach me this business too - to find prey by smell. I see this is very convenient.

The cat agreed. The dog stayed with him, and the cat began to teach it.

Many days have passed. It seemed to the dog that she had already mastered the whole science, and she began to ask the cat to let her go home.

“Be patient a little,” said the cat, “you haven’t learned everything yet.”

“I definitely need to go home,” the dog insisted.

“Okay,” answered the cat, “go, but not today, but tomorrow.”

In the morning the cat said to his wife:

“When my student comes and asks me, say that I left, but you don’t know where.” A dog appeared.

-Where is the owner? she asked.

“He’s gone somewhere,” answered the cat.

And the cat left on purpose to check whether the dog had learned how to search for prey by smell.

And so the dog began to sniff and followed the cat's trail. She walked for several hours and finally came to the place where the cat was hiding. And the cat hid like this: moving away from the house, he jumped from one stone to another; then he climbed into the cave and came out from the other end; then he climbed up the baobab tree and climbed to the top.

The dog found both stones, found the entrance to the cave and came out the other end. But when she approached the baobab tree, the trail disappeared. Not seeing the cat, she began to wander around the tree. And the cat saw her perfectly from above.

- Look up at the tree! - he finally shouted. “You rushed to give up your studies and remained a dropout.”

This is why a dog can only track prey well on the ground.
