The teacher himself chose the place for meditation today. Twenty monks sat by the river and listened to its flow. Buddha sat nearby under a tree in the shade. He listened to the monks.
All twenty took turns plunging into deep meditation, but could not achieve the state in which the Buddha was. They took turns opening their eyes and asking the teacher how he managed to achieve nirvana, but he only answered: “Listen, listen...”.
And suddenly one monk, who had previously been in love with one nun, but then directed this love to the earth, to nature and to everything around him, suddenly finally achieved the innermost nirvana. Something in him broke, something gushed out, and he felt rays of light of love, harmony and silence flowing through the universe and taking him with them. He opened his eyes and saw the world as Buddha saw it. He was happy. And at that moment he whispered: “It was not in vain that the teacher chose this place today. Don't dive into yourself, dive into the river. Listen... Listen..."
