Tanzan and Ekido were walking along a muddy road one day. It was pouring rain. Passing by an intersection, they met a beautiful girl in a silk kimono and scarf, who could not cross the pothole. “Let’s go, girl,” Tanzan said immediately. He picked her up and dragged her through the mud.
Ekido said nothing and remained silent until they approached the temple. He could no longer hold back and said: “We monks need to stay away from women, especially young and beautiful ones. They are dangerous. Why did you do this?”
“I left the girl there,” Tanzan said, “and you’re still dragging her?”
