Deer and hunters

Deer and hunters
Enlight

One day the deer was thirsty. He went down to the spring to drink. He saw his reflection in the water. He was very upset that he had such thin and ugly legs, but he was very happy that he had large and branchy horns.

Suddenly the deer was attacked by hunters. He started to run. While the deer rushed across the flat field, the hunters could not overtake it. However, having turned into the forest thicket, he got entangled with his horns in the dense branches of the trees. The hunters overtook the deer and killed it.

Dying, he said:

- Oh, woe to me, stupid! I lamented that I had thin and ugly legs, but they kept me alive. The horns of which I was so proud destroyed me.

This story teaches us that what is worthy of praise is not what seems beautiful, but what helps us out in difficult times in life.
