Deaf godfather

A man once met a godfather from a neighboring village at the market.

- How are you doing, godfather? - asks.

“Yes, I bought an ax,” answers the godfather.

“Come and drink beer!” the man invites.

— I paid fifty dollars.

- Definitely come!

— I’ll make the ax handle from maple.

- Well, see you later, godfather!

“I’ll smooth it out with a piece of glass.”

The man walked further along the end rows. And the deaf godfather quickly got on the cart and drove home. He didn’t even unharness the horse at home, but sat his wife next to him and went to

guests.

Before entering the owner's yard, the deaf godfather quietly crept up to the window and looked at what was happening in the house.

There was a bottle of vodka and a glass of beer on the table, and for an appetizer there was a fried lamb's head and rosy cheesecakes. Either the owner himself was going to have a drink and a snack after the market, or he was waiting for guests, who knows.

The godfather tapped the gate with his whip and went back to the window. There was no longer any beer or vodka on the table: the owner hid the pot on the stove and put the bottle under the pillow. The hostess, meanwhile, put the lamb's head in the oven, and put the cheesecakes in

bake.

The godfather drove into the yard, unharnessed the horse, and he and his wife entered the house. And right from the door:

- Oh, I had to endure a lot of fear on the way!

- Did something happen? — the owners became alarmed.

- Yes, we were driving to you and - wow! — we ran into a big snake. She lay down on the road itself and hisses like your beer on the stove. And the eyes are light, like glass, and sparkle like your vodka under your pillow. Well, don’t be bad, I grabbed the stone with the ram’s head that was in your oven, and hit it on the head. He hit it so hard that it flattened out and became exactly the same as your cheesecakes in the bake.

The owners realized what kind of guests had come to them and - there was nothing to do! — they began to put everything that was in the house on the table.
