In one village there was such a custom: after the wedding, the daughter-in-law cannot talk with her father-in-law, only with her mother-in-law. And then, one day, the young people got married. The husband brought his wife to his home, but he did not have a mother. The wife cooks, cleans, does everything and sacredly honors customs - she does not talk to her father-in-law. The father really wants to talk to his daughter-in-law, but she doesn’t care. Then he calls his son and says: “Son, slaughter the bull and gather all the elders.”

The elders feast, and the daughter-in-law brings food and wine. The father woke up and saw his daughter-in-law. Good morning, daughter! - HELLO. - Daughter, bring me something to eat. - What, old man, can’t you take it yourself? - Daughter, give me something to drink. - And so he calls his son all week and says: “Son, kill the bull and gather all the elders.” - Don’t ask why, do as I say. At the end of the feast, the father stood up and said: “Dear elders, impose a vow of silence on my daughter-in-law.
