The cunning prankster Coyote stood by the hill as if he was propping it up. He moaned pitifully to a passing Possum that for many hours in a row he had been forced to hold the hill so that it would not fall and kill one of the animals.
The trusting Possum responded with joy to the request to help him.
He took Coyote's place, and he, promising to return soon, ran to look for something to eat. At the same time, he warned Possum not to leave. Otherwise, the hill will immediately fall on him. Having said this, the treacherous Coyote ran away.
He was gone for a very long time. The opossum is tired of waiting. He got hungry, decided to quit the hill and ran away.
Having run to the side, Possum looked back and saw that the hill was standing as if nothing had happened. Then Possum became very angry with Coyote. He decided to find the impudent Coyote and kill him so that he would never dare to deceive anyone again.
Soon he approached the tree on which his offender Coyote was sitting.
He attacked Coyote with reproaches, but he, being a clever rascal, fooled his brains so much that Possum cooled down very quickly. In addition, Coyote, in a gentle voice, invited him to come closer and eat the chirimoya.
Coyote dropped a ripe chirimoya to Possum, who ate it. He liked it so much that he asked for another one. Then the evil Coyote took and threw him a completely unripe chirimoya. It got stuck in the Possum's throat, and Coyote ran away.
Poor Possum lay under the tree moaning in pain. He was saved by ants who pulled the chirimoya out of his throat. Now the Possum was going to get even with Coyote for all his nasty things and rushed to look for him again.
…He saw Coyote just as he was eating tuna, and said to him;
“Why did you throw me an unripe chirimoya?”
- It's not me. I just got here. Don't be angry. “Better come to me and try the tuna,” Coyote replied.
— I can't climb a tree. Throw me a tuna!
Coyote secretly peeled the tuna from the thorns and threw it to Possum. The possum happily ate it. Then Coyote plucked another tuna and said to Possum:
“Open your mouth, I’ll throw you another tuna.”
Wile E. Coyote threw the tuna straight into the Possum's mouth, and it got stuck in his throat. Coyote ran away, but Possum couldn't even scream.
The ants crawled towards him again and pulled out the tuna with thorns from the Possum's throat. And again the Possum ran to look for Coyote, but he never found it...
