Once upon a time there lived a wonderful cow. There was no other cow in the whole world that gave so regularly and so much milk of the highest quality.
People flocked from all over the world to look at this horned miracle with an udder. The fathers told their offspring about her dedication to her chosen cause and selfless service to people. Religious preachers urged their flock to look at the cow with awe and try to become like her in everything. Government officials held it up as an example of good planning that, with some effort, could be replicated in human society. In short, everyone found a way to benefit from the existence of this wonderful animal.
There was, however, one unpleasant feature, one small annoying habit that people did not notice in their fascination with the self-evident merits of the wonderful cow: as soon as the milk pan was filled with her truly incomparable milk, the cow kicked it and knocked it over.
