Each of the gods, rulers of the countries of the world, was the ancestor of many tribes. Tribes and clans mixed with each other, and as a result, the gods had not only good, but also evil descendants. And then Chiyu and his eighty-one brothers were born. All these brothers had animal bodies, copper heads with iron foreheads, but they spoke humanly. And Chiyu himself, unlike his brothers, had a human body. But he had cow hooves, six arms and four eyes. A strong and sharp horn grew on the copper head. When Chiyu was angry, the hair behind his ears stood up, and to the frightened people it seemed that eight swords were rising.
It wasn't just Chiyu's appearance that was surprising. His food was unusual. The giant ate sand instead of rice, and stones and pieces of iron instead of meat. At the same time, one pair of hands made axes, the other made pikes, the third made tridents, the fourth made axes, the fifth and sixth made bows and arrows, as well as strong shields.
All the brothers had only two thoughts behind their iron foreheads: one was to obey their elder brother in everything, the other was to fight and shed the blood of their enemies.
Chiyu was much smarter and more cunning. Under his sharp horn, thoughts swarmed in his head, which lined up in an insidious plan to seize power over the whole world. First, he decided to carry out the first part of the plan: he quickly made a lot of weapons, raised his brothers, whose hands had been itching for a long time, as well as crowds of ghosts and spirits who hated gods and people. With this army he attacked the ruler of the South, the aging Yan-di.
Yan Di possessed divine power. His commander was the spirit of fire itself, which copper and iron could not resist. But Chiyu attacked so suddenly, brazenly and treacherously! The humane Yan Di was afraid that the war would bring untold disasters to people. Without a fight, he ceded the land of light to Chiyu, and he himself fled to the north, to an area called Zholu. It was famous for the fact that Huang Di himself once fought a great battle here against Yan Di in order to make him submissive to the central government. The battle was so fierce that clubs and spears were swimming in blood. Yan-di with the remnants of his army retreated to the south and submitted to the ruler of the Celestial Empire. And now he had to flee from a new enemy in the land of his shame.
And the insolent invader Chiyu himself trembled with fear, although the copperhead brothers did not notice this. He thought: “What if Huang Di comes to the aid of Yan Di, throws all his army against me and severely punishes me!” But the ruler of the Celestial Empire did not intervene in this war. He decided: let the rulers quarrel and fight among themselves. This will make them all weaker, and his power will increase.
Chiyu, having won, became proud, and his brothers itched their hands even more, because their heads were drilled by one single thought: “I want to fight!” Chiyu figured out how to get Huang Di to close his eyes facing south and not notice the new military preparations. For this reason, he was one of the first to rush at the call of Huang Di to the great meeting of spirits and demons, was more respectful than anyone else to the ruler of the Celestial Empire, and he himself looked out for what kind of army he had. Huang Di did not notice the treachery hiding behind the mask of respect and loyalty. So Chiyu lulled the lord’s watchful eyes, turned to the south, and rushed home at the head of a pack of wolves and tigers. He decided to attack Huang Di himself while the ruler’s southern eyes were sleeping. Thus, Chiyu, step by step, carried out an insidious plan to seize power over the whole world.
