Once upon a time there lived a husband and wife. The wife was a lazy and carefree woman, and also a big gourmet: she ate everything on nuts and gingerbread, so that at last she was left in only a shirt, and even a thin one - torn.
A big holiday is approaching, and the woman has nothing to wear except this shirt. And she said to her husband:
- Go, husband, to the market and buy me a shirt for the holiday.
The husband went to the market, saw that they were selling a goose, and bought it instead of a shirt. He came home and his wife asked him:
— Did you buy me a shirt?
“I bought it,” the husband answers, “but only a goose.”
But the wife did not hear and said:
- Well, it’s narrow, but I’ll wear it out!
She took off her torn shirt and threw it into the stove and asked:
- Where is the shirt? Let me put it on.
- But I said that I bought a goose, not a shirt.
So the woman was left without a shirt, naked.
